Owner, Jake Coley received a Bachelors of Fine Art in Sculpture, from Appalachian State University.  Post graduation he worked as a sculpture assistant with artist Roxy Paine.  His work can be found across the world, and questions the tension between organic and man made environments.  This was a unique opportunity to learn how a trained eye can see details, and work through realistic forms. Jake grew up in a woodworking household located in Newton, North Carolina. His mother's father Roy Kilpatrick was a foreman for Broyhill Furniture for over 40 years. His Father, Scott Coley's Parents made pottery, and owned a machine shop.  Scott himself an industrial design teacher, cabinet maker, and fine home builder. This long heritage of makers has created an important legacy of craftsmanship and quality. Uncommon Forest is focused on offering special belongings that will become heirlooms in your own legacy.
